IE7 Virus in my Inbox

IE7 Download Virus in my Inbox

If an email drops in your inbox offering you a download of Microsoft’s IE7
( Internet Explorer 7) Beta 2 then don’t even think about downloading it because it can be a virus. A new virus is spreading disguised as IE7 Beta 2 download.

The email includes a convincing graphic that looks like from Microsoft, and the virus is downloaded to user’s computer when he clicks on a download link. Instead of an attachment there is a link to download IE7 Beta 2 so it’s hard to prevent the email from dropping in the inbox.

The email comes with a subject “Internet Explorer 7 Downloads” and seems to be sent from admin@microsoft.com. The email looks very identical to that from Microsoft. I have also received the email and it looks just original.Clicking the graphic will download an executable file called IE 7.exe.

The file is actually a new virus called Virus.Win32.Grum.A. The virus tampers with registry files to ensure it gets installed, and it tries to download additional files from the Internet. It also installs a keylogger and steals personal information.

The final version of IE7 has already been released so there’s no reason that Microsoft will send out Beta 2 download. So be Cautious!!!

I suggest using Firefox instead you can download it from the side bar link and it definitely Rockz!! :D

If you still wanna use IE7 You can Download IE7 here
